Last night we decorated our Christmas tree. I’ve never had a tree of my own before; living in temporary student flats for the past decade meant I never really thought about having a proper tree – and last year, I was in Cuba! I am particularly fond of this tree because I rescued it from the bin-men. Someone had put their living, potted tree out with the rubbish just after New Year’s Eve, and I couldn’t leave it there, so it sat in our front room for a little while and then I took it to my parents’ house to summer in their garden.
It’s a small tree, so I hung my favourite large decorations (and a witches’ ball) on a ribbon in the window – and we also have a poinsettia! It’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas …

Lovely! Having a tree of your own is nice, isn’t it?! Since my parents now live a 4 hour train journey away it doesn’t make sense for me to put up a tree here at home. But seeing all those pretty decorations around blogland slowly gets me into the proper mood for Christmas! Thanks for showing yours :-)
This looks lovely and so inviting!
